10 Things I’ve Learned In 2015

2015 probably was one of my hardest years ever. I felt like I wasted a lot of time this year, missed out on opportunities, had many personal growth moments and I also had a lot of emotional moments. This year was very trying for me. It was hard but i’m optimistic about the future. Tomorrow is 2016. This year went by really fast and I honestly have so many unanswered questions going into the New Year. This year I celebrated my 24th birthday and I didn’t really feel any older and I didn’t really feel any wiser. 2015 wasn’t all that bad though. It had it’s good and it’s bad moments. So today I wanted to share with you guys a little bit of what I learned and experienced in 2015.

Happy New Year

  1. In 2015, I learned the value of making calculated decisions
  2. In 2015, I’ve learned that sometimes it’s okay to put yourself first
  3. In 2015, I formed a deeper bond and connection with the people closest to me.
  4. In 2015, I realized that sometimes you just need to give up the things and jobs in your life that isn’t pushing you towards progress. {This is something I’m planning on doing in 2016}
  5. In 2015, even though this happened later on in the year I made the pledge to be genuinely happy even if my day isn’t going all to well.
  6. In 2015, I learned to just humble myself and listen more to people. Sometimes to keep the peace you just have to let things go.
  7. In 2015, I learned that it’s okay to take a break from friends.
  8. In 2015, I realized that I want to do so much things with my PR degree once I graduate. I want to take advantage of everything the field of public relations have to offer.
  9. In 2015, I had miss out on a lot of opportunities due to how stressful classes were lol.
  10. In 2015, I got stung by a bee for the first time in my life lol! Just as I arrived in Florida too! How annoying lmao!

Overall, I don’t regret 2015. I just wish more things happened. i’m going into 2016 with like so many questions but I’m so excited to see what will happen next. In the new year I plan on quitting my job and moving to another state. I have a love/hate relationship with my current job. I love that I’m able to help the family out but I hate that I have to sacrifice so much of my youth for a job that offers me nothing. So here’s to a new year of reclaiming my youth, making bolder and better decisions, meeting new people and just living life. Goodbye 2015. Hello 2016.

  • It looks like you’ve had a very insightful year! I agree that it’s so important to put yourself first sometimes! I think it’s something that’s easy to forget because I know for me, I was raised to serve. I learned this year that my happiness is so important, and if I want to make other people happy, I need to be happy too. Also, I’m so sorry that you got stung by a bee! I’ve never been stung before, and I hope it never happens. Yikes! I hope you have an incredible 2016!
