Tori Kelly has one of the best new voices of today!

The video you just watched is from Tori Kelly if you haven’t heard of her seriously put down everything head on over to iTunes or Youtube and check her out. I previously wrote a blog post about her EP and since then so much has happened it feels like literally over midnight she has done so much. On Wednesday night she performed to a crowd of about 600 people at her sold out show at The Roxy with Travis Garland. This girl has a flawless voice, her vocals are on point and she is amazing. Her music and voice is full of so much passion and just that chill type vibe. Her vocals are fresh, its new and it’s like no other. No one has a voice like Tori today in the industry. She can be funky at times with it and then she can take her voice to a whole new level cause she’s awesome like that. I absolutely love her ahh fan girling right now. She is so humble it’s crazy how her music reflects who she, to me that is such a rare quality today in many artist. I just love her entire style and her music impacts and reaches all types of people. Also I found out today that she is working with Scooter Justin Beiber’s manager. She is in such good hands it’s crazy how God works. I know working with Scooter she will have more freedom to be herself when it comes to music. Aww man I am so excited about this new season. I am so happy for her. I love watching people who I have followed do awesome things. It keeps me so positive and also hopeful that if I to push and go forth and pursue all my dreams in the end it will be worth it. No matter how small your dream is or what your dream is take it on full force and just do you. I love love Tori Kelly and you guys should to.

“A woman’s heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”

I absolutely love this quote because it spells out what we as young women should look for in our next boyfriend or husband. A guy should go all out to pursue you and his intentions must be pure of heart. He should be a god fearing Christian man. I’m not saying he should be perfect but in the eyes of The Lord he should be the perfect person for you. We as young girls/women our hearts are so vulnerable. We tend to look at the outside before we get to know the inside. We tend not to trust God and jump into relationships without even praying about it or simply going to god for direction. We also tend to lower our standards and take a lot of the crap that many of the guys dish out. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in these relationships that we forget to love ourselves, love God and just have quality time with ourselves. Also for all you single girls like me we obviously have to guard our hearts and not give into that feeling of loneliness because as soon as we give into that loneliness our perspectives and our judgements become clouded and we tend to make stupid decisions when it comes to affairs of the heart. I live by this bible scripture “Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” (NIRV). This scripture is the truth it connects with so much aspects of your life. Your heart may tell you one thing but your head may say another. I always say if your heart and mind aren’t aligned then the decision you are making might not be the right one and you need to talk to God. When trying to form a relationship with a guy or getting to know him you need to go to God, talk to him ask him for wisdom and direction. You need to ask him to strengthen your heart but also open your heart to also get to know this person. You also need to surround your self with wise friends and supporting family members who will have your back no matter what. You need to make sure that this guy isn’t the fool that proverbs talks about. He needs to be the wise man that holds his temper, listens to advice  and seeks counsel of other wise men,  he needs to honor his mother and father, he must be a peacemaker and learns from his mistakes and receives instructions humbly and he needs to be a god fearing and loving and trustworthy man. Here are some bible verses to just keep close to your heart: Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 11:14 ESV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23) “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV) Here’s one of my favorite Christian songs from Britt Nicole called Safe! I thought it would be perfect for this post. Listen to the song and if you like what you hear be sure to check her out on Spotify or buy her album on iTunes.

Everyday it’s a personal struggle!

I can say that I am a christian. I recently started to put God above everything else in my life. It’s a daily struggle because let me tell you this world is full of so many temptations. You don’t really notice it when your eyes are closed but when you start trying to live by the word of God and your eyes start opening all the stuff that you once thought was right or the things that you do on a daily basis you realize that God doesn’t want you to live like this. Every decision you make, you make it with God in first. You think about all the things in life. Your future becomes so much clearer and also you feel like a huge weight is slowly being lifted off your shoulder. For me personal the change has been that I have become so much more humble, less vengeful or not angry all the time. But it’s not easy it’s hard just stepping back and praying for someone. Normally I would just get into a huge argument and say some hurtful stuff and try to get my “revenge” on whoever but nope no more. I have so much still to change in my life. I am still attached to a lot of stuff that isn’t christian like but I know soon certain things I am attached to won’t even matter anymore. I hope this makes sense for whoever reads my blog it’s 3:15AM lol not really awake right now. I just felt like writing a blog post while listening to Group 1 Crew check them out on Spotify they are amazing. Okay until tomorrow well Sunday I mean or later today if I am inspired 🙂

Looking beyond!

In life we tend to just look at what we have in front of us and not look beyond. I believe we are dreamers but we tend to only just dream and not act. We look at what other people are doing in their lives and how they are fulfilling their dream but instead of us going out and pursing our dream and/or  looking beyond our obstacles we sit at home just imagining what if. I love the chorus in the song Nothing ever happens by Rachel Platten. It’s so simple yet you get the point you need to look beyond everything.

But nothing ever happens if you stay in your room
Nothing ever happens if you leave the party too soon
Never be a winner if you’re not in the game
And nothing ever happens if you always play it safe
Make a little space and get out of your own way.

In life even if you are unsure of your future or you want to do something but you are afraid because you can’t see the outcome. Don’t worry God has your back. If it is something that is dear to your heart and this is your passion, go for it only you can stop you. Don’t believe that lie that what you see is what you get because it is not so. It’s the unforeseen and unplanned things that shock you the most Even if you might not have all the resources to fulfill your dreams still go after it. A small start goes a long way. We are all destined for greatness. God has placed each and everyone on of us for a reason. Don’t feel down and out when something you want to do doesn’t work out instead get back up and start all over again. God is a god of multiple chances.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”- 2 Corinthians 2:18
