It’s officially February. January was a relatively slow month for me. The days were long but the month flew by. January was actually a good month. A lot of good came with the new year. School is going great even though this sociology paper due in a couple of weeks is kicking my butt. I got invited to NYFW and I can actually go this time because work isn’t getting in the way. I’m still deciding on what I should wear because since it’s cold in New York and I want to be stylish but also comfortable and warm. I’m so nervous though. I’ve never been to a fashion show lol. For today’s blog post i want to recap January and just share with you all some of my favorites from last month. Enjoy xx ♥
Hey guys so it’s finally Friday and I honestly I am so happy the week is over even though it was a very short week. I’ve always wanted to do a weekly recap/roundup of my week and I thought since I didn’t really blog much this week I should share my weekly roundup with you guys. A lot of things happened this week that really caught my eye and I just felt like I should blog about it and get you guys two cents on some things. So I really hope everyone enjoyed their week, accomplished every goal they set in place and wish you guys an amazing weekend. Unfortunately, my weekend is dedicated to catching up on some homework and taking a midterm but I don’t mind.

1. So the first thing I want to talk about is the Lily Pulitzer Fat Shaming Scandal. This week a picture was released online showing an illustration saying some not to nice things “Just another day of fat, white and hideous… You should probably just kill yourself,” and “Put it down, carb face,” and it was later revealed in a Huffington Post article that this was one of their employees illustrations posted in her cubicle. To be honest, I really don’t know how such damaging words can be used as motivation for anyone to lose weight. I read these words and I didn’t feel good. To be honest if this was really the story behind these illustrations all I can do is send positive vibes of love to that employee.
2. Another thing I love doing is watching people sing on YouTube and this week I found the perfect throwback song cover by one of my favorite actress Arden Cho. If you guys have ever watched Teen Wolf you’ve probably seen her as this badass Kitsune on the show. I discovered that Arden was singer after she sang this song from Hillsong called Oceans. For all Christian music fans out there she absolutely slays this cover by the way but this week she did a cover of Kiss Me by Sixpence Non The Richer and her voice is marvelous, you guys need to check out her cover below.
The Billboard Music Awards were last Sunday and if I’m being honest it wasn’t really all that good. The only reason why I actually watched the Billboard Music Awards was because of Taylor Swifts Bad Blood Music Video Premiere, which by the way was amazing. You can watch it here. I also tuned into the Billboard Music Awards because one of my favorites Tori Kelly was performing. She killed it. Her first award show performance was everything. There were also a ton of bad performances like Mariah Carey, Kanye West (sorry but you couldn’t see or hear anything he was saying) and I wasn’t too fond of that Pretty Girls performance but it could just be because I genuinely hate that song. However, there was one good thing about the Billboard Music Awards and that was the fashion. Some of my favorite celebrities arrived on the Red Carpet and I have to admit even though they night didn’t bring about any interesting/ out of the box fashion looks I was still able to pick out some my favorite looks from this year’s Billboard Music Awards. Also did you guys here that H&M’s next high fashion collaboration is with Balmain. The new collaboration is set to launch this November and honestly I can’t wait. Who was your favorite red carpet look?[slideshow_deploy id=’4891′]
Last night was the Golden Globes and even though I didn’t watch the entire show (sorry I only watched to support Gina Rodriguez accept her award for best performance by an actress in a TV Series); I absolutely loved the fashion. Award season is my favorite time of the year. I just love seeing everyone all dressed up and having a good time. This year at the Golden Globes I loved so many of the red carpet looks and I so wish I could have fit them all into one blog post but I had to narrow it down to my top ten favorites.
I still can’t get over how stunning Nina Dobrev in her Zuhair Murad gown last night at the InStyle Magazine Golden Globes after-party. I just had to feature the beauty of this dress. She was definitely my best dressed at the Golden Globes after-party.
Today’s blog post is all about my end of year favorites and obsessions. I can’t believe in just a few hours 2014 will be over and I’ll be basking in the excitement of 2015 and all it has to offer. This year was crazy. 2014 had its ups and it had its downs but overall 2014 was amazing. Right now I’m in sunny Florida and I’m enjoying the last few days of 2014 with my crazy and amazingly fun family and life is just perfect.
Here are my end of year favorites
This drink is amazing. Kombucha is this bubbly fermented tea that is simply just heaven in a bottle. The first time I drank Kombucha I didn’t really like it, it was this weird new drink that my tastebuds deemed as foreign but as soon as I took a few more sips I was in love and Kombucha became my go-to drink while at work in New York during the week. This drink is definitely a must try. It’s sort of like a healthy soda.
Okay this trend is my favorite thing at the moment. I love seeing guys wearing their hair with little top buns. It’s just so sexy. I mean seriously every guy should have a top bun lol.
I finally decided to buy a Nintendo 3DS and right now I am so obsessed with my little video game lol. I never owned a video game because it wasn’t really my thing but I’ve always loved playing Mario and when I saw that the Nintendo 3DS had so many different versions of the Mario game I just had to jump on the 3DS bandwagon. I absolutely love having this game and it’s such a good distraction when my life gets a little hectic. I’m 23 years old and I am a firm believer in that it’s never to late indulge in some good old video game fun.
